Menfor Group is working with Taylor Woodrow, who has been appointed by ScottishPower Renewables to deliver the onshore civil engineering works for the £4 billion East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm.
The contract covers civil works associated with the onshore substation and forms part of the wider East Anglia TWO project located off the Suffolk coast. During delivery, the works are expected to support approximately 80 jobs, contributing to local employment and skills development.
Taylor Woodrow’s scope includes highway improvements, as well as landscaping and screening works, which are essential to integrating the new infrastructure seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The appointment follows a series of supply chain announcements after ScottishPower Renewables’ success in the Allocation Round 6 auction in September, strengthening the UK’s renewable energy pipeline.
In parallel, ScottishPower Renewables has also secured a turbine supply contract valued at over £1 billion, with turbine blades for the initial 64 turbines to be manufactured in Hull—potentially increasing to 75 turbines as the final design is confirmed.
Once fully operational, East Anglia TWO is expected to generate up to 960MW of clean energy, enough to power approximately 950,000 homes, making a significant contribution to the UK’s transition to renewable energy.
