Hitachi Zosen Inova has bagged the contract to build a £250m energy-from-waste plant on the site of the old Skelton Grange power station to the south of Leeds.
Commonwealth Village Perry Barr West Midlands Mayor Andy Street today welcomed news that Birmingham City Council’s planning committee has approved proposals for the second phase of regeneration in Perry Barr.
The 12.84 hectare site would accommodate 400-500 new homes, associated public open space and a new secondary school for 1,260 pupils.
The area, between Holford Drive and Aldridge Road in Perry Barr, is adjacent to the site of the former Birmingham City University Campus – already being redeveloped as the residential element of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Village.
Glen Parva Prison £286m prison to become one of the largest operating in the UK HMP Fosse Way, which was named following extensive consultation with the local community, forms part of a UK government plan to deliver 3,360 additional prison places by 2023 at Fosse Way and the recently opened HMP Five Wells in Wellingborough.
The £286 million project will initially house 1,715 prisoners across a 16-acre site, with an additional cell block and ancillary building extension approved by Blaby District Council and Oadby and Wigston Borough Council last December, extending capacity further.
